Hi,

I have a re-entry permit question specific to Chiang Mai.

I want to get a multiple re entry permit .... i have a Non O visa. I understand the documents I need but not the process.

Do I need to go through the document checking process at Immigration or is there a different counter. Also, does it make any difference which Chiang Mai Immigration office I go to.

Finally .... how long does it normally take?

Thanks so much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a multiple re-entry permit in Chiang Mai with a Non-O visa, you can go to either the immigration office at Central Festival Mall (available 9 AM to 12 PM) or the main immigration office near the airport (business hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, closed for lunch 12 PM to 1 PM). You will need to prepare the TM8 application form, a passport-sized photo, and copies of various documents including your passport data page and visa details. The fee is 3800 baht, and the permit is issued on the spot.

I remember messaging with you before, you have a year "extension of stay" (not any Non-O anything ๐Ÿ˜ฎ )

You can go to the immigration office at Central Festival Mall BUT they only sell re-entry permits from 9 to 12 in the mornings

OR

You go to the main immigration office by the airport during their business hours 8:30-4:30 M-F (closed 12:00 - 1:00 for lunch)

You need

Filled out TM8 application for re-entry permit

1 passport sized photo

copies of;

data page of your passport

most recent entry stamp

Non-O visa

year extension

TM30 receipt <- not always asked for

Those things and 3800 baht get you a mulitple re-entry permit valid as long as your yearly extension is good for

It's issued on the spot (so you just wait it out) ๐Ÿ™‚
