TLDR : Answer Summary
The user arrived in Thailand on a 45-day free entry stamp and inquired about extending their stay beyond 45 days in Chiang Mai. Community responses indicate that it is possible to extend the stay for an additional 30 days at the Chiang Mai immigration office, specifically at the location in Central Festival Chiang Mai. The ease of the process was noted, with positive experiences shared by others who completed the extension.
Highly recommend to extend your visa at Chiang Mai immigration branch in Central festival Chiang Mai. My husband(British) and I went there to do extension visa and we spent only 40 minutes in and out.
if you showed up here without having bought a tourist visa from the thai consulate in your country before you came here and were stamped in FREE for 45 days you did NOT enter on a tourist visa ๐ฎ , or a visa on arrival ๐ฎ OR on any visa at all ๐ฎ
You got in on a free entry stamp which is for 45 days right now for people from 58 countries.
NOW whether you can or can't get a 30 day extension at the immigration office inside the country comes down to what nationality your passport is.
WOW, can't believe i didn't even see that Thanx alot I edited my post(s) to show they can indeed get a 30 day extension at either office in Chiang Mai ๐
So to get a 30 day extension you would go to either the main immigration office in Chiang Mai by the airport OR the alternate immigration office located on the 2nd floor in Central Festival Mall.
This is a general idea of what can be requested to get a 30 day extension on your entry stamp for 1900baht. You can get ONE 30 day extension per entry.
