Hi, I'm working in Bangkok and I have a Non-B visa and a work permit. In October I am planning to leave my job and move out of Thailand but I do want to travel around Thailand for about a month after my contract ends. How long can I stay in Thailand after my contract ends - I assume my employer will cancel my non-B visa but can I then apply to change to a tourist visa without leaving the country? Thank you.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The ability to stay in Thailand after your Non-B visa and work permit end depends on the type of visa you have. If you possess an actual visa (sticker or e-visa), it cannot be canceled; however, if it is an extension based on your work permit, that must be canceled upon termination of your job. Typically, you cannot apply for a tourist visa while remaining in Thailand; you must leave the country first. There may be exceptions related to Covid extensions, but be aware that this is temporary and regulations can change.
