Hi all - if one resigns from a job through which they hold their non-b and work permit, how long are they permitted to stay in the country? (i.e. after cancelling the work permit at the MoL, how long are they given, or is this not the process?).
Also, nowadays - given COVID and all - can one transition from a non-b w/work permit to a tourist visa (without leaving the country, obviously)?
Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
After resigning from a job in Thailand while holding a non-B visa and work permit, the stay duration depends on the type of visa you hold. If you have a 90-day stamp from your non-B visa, you can stay until that stamp expires. However, if you are on an extension of stay based on employment, you need to cancel your extension immediately after canceling your work permit. Current policies do not allow for an in-country transition to a tourist visa, and there are no COVID-related extensions that grant additional time to stay.
