After one year, when your retirement (non O-A immigrant, I believe it is) visa needs to be renewed, how long before it expires can you renew?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically renew your retirement (non O-A) visa within 30 to 45 days before it expires. It's advisable to check with your local Thai Immigration office for specific requirements and timelines.

ASK your Thai Immigration office for their requirements and timelines for obtaining the one year extension of stay as retired.

Usually you can do it WITHIN 30 to 45 days before the current data expires.

Is your retirement based on the OA visa you obtained from your home country before you arrived into Thailand?

Are you NOW in the first year of the OA visa you have in your passport?

When did you get the OA visa?

Or do you really have it in your passport

I ask that question because you had asked in a post you wanted to Post THIS....on September 25th you ASKED:

"I am a world traveller from the US based in Thailand these days. I am here maybe 6 months out of the year, though I will most likely be spending more time here as time moves on. (My thai girlfriend in Samui would like that also. 555)

Currently I survive by VOAs, but since I am 69 years old I am seriously looking at obtaining a retirement visa here.

My question is when is the right time to do it? Should I wait until I travel less frequently and stay here for longer periods? Or do it now so I'll have the freedom to come and go as I please and not have to hassle with visa-runs, etc. Or does it matter?

Would love your opinion. Thanks."

wow you found my post. I have not gotten my visa yet. But am looking ahead to the future. Once I get it I'll need to plan my travels around the renewal.
