TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your retirement visa in Thailand, you can typically apply 30 days or less before your current visa stamp expires at most immigration offices. However, some offices in bigger cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Chiang Mai may allow applications up to 45 days in advance. Given that the current visa deadline is November 2nd, it's advisable to apply as soon as possible, ideally within the 30-day window.

and now that we have every Tom, Dick and Somchai ๐ฎ weighing in on the time frame depending on the office I'd say we're done and the O/P has more than enough information to know what's what with their upcoming retirement extension application ๐
Thanx one and all for the comments

Okay SOME offices (Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, etc) allow you to apply when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp but MOST of the other 80+ offices scattered around the country allow you to do it when you have 30 days or less left on your stamp
Seeing as the O/P didn't say where they are in the 513K square kilometers that comprise the glorious "Land 'O Thaiz" I went with the "when you have 30 days or less" seeing as that will work at EVERY office ๐
Not to mention that their current stamp runs out in just 29 days anyway ๐
it depends on the Immigration. Most allow the application up from 30 days left on the admitted stay stamp. Some - like Bangkok and Chiang Mai - allow it from 45 days up

There is no how far in advance rule. You can apply for a new yearly extension at most immigration offices when you have 30 days or less left on your stamp.
That means you can do it from a month before it expires right on down to the day your current stamp runs out
