TLDR : Answer Summary
The earliest you can typically apply for a retirement visa extension in Thailand is either 30 or 45 days before the expiration date, depending on the immigration office. Some users have reported being able to apply as early as 60 days in advance, but practices may vary by location.

Michael Z Maa. It's a 12-month extension. The OP was asking how soon before expiry he can get a new extension. In Bangkok it's 45 days before, but other offices it's 30 days.
