Hello, I have a few questions about the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. I see it mentioned quite often on this group.
So what are the rules governing this extension, for instance can you get several in a row, or do you have to get out of the country after 60 days, if so can you come back on exemption of visa and ask for a new 60 day extension? Is there a limited number of times you can do that, or can you do that indefinitely? Do all the offices make it easy, or can it be refused in some provinces? While you are on this extension can you buy a reentry permit and come back before the 60 days are over and still be on the extension?
That's more than a few questions, thank you very much in advance. ;)
TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day extension of stay for visiting Thai family can typically be obtained once per visa entry, with some immigration offices allowing it only once per visa type. Regulations may vary by location, so it's advisable to check with the specific immigration office. A re-entry permit can be purchased during the extension, but it does not extend the duration; it merely allows reentry before the original extension expiration.
