How does my passport's expiration date affect my DTV application as a digital nomad in Thailand?

Hi guys, how do things work with the DTV and the years you have left on your passport before it expires. My passport expires in 2028 for example.

I’m applying as a digital nomad.

Thanks in advance and sorry for this question has been asked before.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, it is important to consider the expiration date of your passport. Immigration is aware of your passport's expiry, and if it is set to expire before your DTV, a note will be made regarding this information. If your passport expires while you hold a DTV, when you apply for a new passport, you should carry both the old and new passports to facilitate any necessary transfers or verifications. It is recommended to visit your embassy for a passport renewal and then proceed to immigration for assistance with transferring stamps and updating records.

I have seen two posters complaining that immigration will not transfer the visa to their new passport

You're not in hurry with yoir passport. Most easiest way is to apply new passport in your Bangkok embassy and sfter receiving new passport go to the one stop service (immigration) and ask them to change the info and transfer necessary stamps onto new passport. Also embassy gives you a letter explaining your passport has renewed. This way is less hassle in my opinion...?

A note is made of your passport expiry date, so immigration is aware of it. I have a passport sticker, the date is written on it of my passport expiry date ending before my DTV. I guess those with a PDF DTV a note is made on it too, When you get your new passport, carry your old one with you.
