How long does it take to hear back after a DTV visa interview and what challenges might I face in Thailand?

Hi,

I have recently applied for DTV from Pakistan . I was called in for an interview on 19th March where the visa officer asked me questions on my intent to stay in Thailand and my employment evidence. He also raised a little bit of concern on my no travel history in the past . Overall, interview went well.

How many days should it take for me to hear back from them ?

If approved, what would be the next steps ?

I have read about challenges at immigration in Pakistan as well as in Thailand while getting in or out on DTV,

Is that true ? What challenges can I expect to have ? What would be the solution?

Which areas should I focus on living in Bangkok, Thailand which are digital nomad friendly and have vibrant nightlife.

Any recommendations or information would be highly appreciated 🙏

Thanks,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about their recent interview for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Pakistan. They want to know how long it will take to receive feedback after their interview and the next steps if their visa is approved. Concerns about potential immigration challenges in both Pakistan and Thailand were raised, along with inquiries about living in Bangkok, specifically searching for areas that are friendly for digital nomads and have a vibrant nightlife. Community comments suggest that the decision should be made soon and emphasize the importance of adapting to cultural differences in Thailand.

After the interview you should get the decision fairly soon. Surprised they didn't tell you the answer at the end of the interview. If approved you print out your visa, grab your passport and head to Thailand.

I would be surprised too if I was the visa officer. Why do you want to go to Thailand for 5 years if you've never been there before? Good luck.

once you get the visa, you need to spend some time to different part of Thailand and get a feeling, every city is different so you need to find your place you like...start with Bangkok......seems like you never been there so be ready for cultural shock, Thailand is nothing like Pakistan, its extremely polite and easy to live as long as you stay away from trouble....

I don’t think I’ve seen a Pakistan approval for DTV. Only Pakistan seem to be offering Multiple Entry for 6 months…. Please do report back after hearing from them.
