Hi, I need some help and advice on tourist visa extension.
I have a tourist visa that would expire on Nov 16th. I'm gonna apply for the extension, but tricky thing is that I'll be visiting the United States and coming back to Thailand on Nov 22th. So in this case, I need to apply for the extension AND re-entry permit, correct?
Just want to be crystal clear on necessary processes as this is my very first time to do this stuff.
Thank you so much in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on extending their tourist visa and obtaining a re-entry permit while traveling to the US. Discussions revolve around the costs and options for managing their visa situation, including applying for an extension, considering entry on a visa-exempt basis, and the advantages of obtaining a new tourist visa instead.
have very valid points. You could just let this entry cancel, fly to the US and when you come back get a 30 day visa exempt entry and extend that by 30 days too.
OR
Snap up a single entry tourist visa from a thai consulate in the US while you're there..
Question - how long to the US for and what dates? I presuming giving travel time it must be at a min. 3 days. If you leave before the initial expiry date it might be easier to leave then come back on a 30 day visa exempt.
I would forget about the re-entry permit. Use that money to get a brand new Tourist visa valid for 60 days before you come back. Or just forget about the Tourist Visa and use the free 30 day visa exempt and then pay 1900฿ to extend it to 60 days.
actually, for almost a month. So starting from Oct 19th to Nov 22th. What difference would it make between getting the visa extension and re-entry permit, and just coming back on visa exempt? Costs, I guess?
also you can apply for that 30 day extension early because they ADD the 30 days on to your existing expiration date. You don't lose time by going early for it.
