Applying for the Thailand DTV as a Perpetual Traveler

I'm currently in Bali, Indonesia, and I have a rented apartment in Thailand for utility bills. Originally, I'm from Germany and still hold a German passport. I run an e-commerce business in Estonia, and I would like to apply for the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), but I'm unsure about the best approach due to the following reasons:

1. There is no Royal Thai Embassy in Indonesia.

2. What should I list as my home address? Should I use the one in Thailand?

3. Iโ€™ll be in Shenzhen, China, in one or two weeks. Would it make sense to visit the Royal Thai Embassy there and apply in person? I noticed that when selecting Shenzhen, it asks me to upload an Entry-Exit Record.

4. Whatโ€™s the easiest way for me to register for the DTV right now? Iโ€™ve heard that applying in Malaysia is relatively straightforward.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently in Bali and holding a German passport, wants to apply for the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) but faces challenges due to the lack of a Thai Embassy in Indonesia. They are considering applying at the Royal Thai Embassy in Shenzhen, China, but have received conflicting information regarding applying for the visa in person or online. Comments suggest that the quickest way might be to travel to Jakarta, Indonesia, where the DTV can reportedly be processed in three days. There are also hints about complications with applying in Malaysia and that the online eVisa system is becoming the norm for Thai visas.

I think you mean there is no longer a consulate in Bali ๐Ÿ˜‰ it closed after covid and never re-opened

You can't apply in person at ANY thai consulates in china that country is on the eVisa online web portal and you apply thru it

Slog on over to Jakarta and apply IN PERSON at that consulate.

You heard wrong and the consulates in that country are also going to the online eVisa web portal for visas to thailand starting on the 8th of Oct

I would like to add to applying in China: there is Chinese people posting on Chinese social media that the Thai embassy (can't particularly say which ones, but certainly the one in Beijing) makes it really hard for them to get this Visa. I mean really hard, because the government there doesn't want anyone to get this Visa. Not sure how they treat foreigners there applying for it.

from what i've heard it's almost impossible for a foreigner to show up in china as a tourist and apply thru one of the nine thai consulates there online for a thai visa

Even foreigners who legally live/work in china are having a tough time (from the reports I've read)

Jakarta would be your easiest option. Malaysia seems to be causing problems for everyone
