Hey everyone, I want to thank everyone here thats gave me helpful advice on reaching thailand. I arrived here into bkk yesterday, I didnt have any checks when flying from heathrow. A policeman even wished me a 'good trip', Great staff at heathrow and on the plane. Thai immigration were nicer than ever also. It couldnt have gone any smoother. It makes me laugh now that i was planning the what if's out the night before my flight. Thanks again and good luck to all🙏

We all panic about things at the moment! My husband returned to the UK on the same plane that you flew out on (landing at 0935 Sunday morning). Right up until he completed check in and went airside, we were quietly planning what to do if one of his documents was incorrect in some way! Enjoy!

remember as of now, though you can extend 2xs for total 9 months, you cannot transfer by end & MUST leave the country wheres exemption orjust reg. TV, you can apply & transfer to different visa w/in country👍🏼 of course this could change in a month

Yes am aware thank you, I don’t qualify for any other visas unless i wanted to go down the dodgy ed or volunteer route, so gunna risk the STV and either surrounding borders will be open and the end of my 9 months or i have to fly back to uk/make a new plan to go elsewhere. Thanks though!

how do you not qualify for a regular tourist visa if you do an STV?!?

You can't transition to another visa inside Thailand from the STV.

That's what I said originally though, you have until March 30th to apply for it.
@J*
She's talking about the covid "unable to travel extension," not extending the STV.

Thats until March 30th. And that's a "not able to travel" extnesion of stay, not an extension of the tourist visa.

Your solicter is correct, but like I said it (as of now) is only available until March 30th and starts the day you are issued the extension, not when your entry ends.

I must be talking to myself. Go ahead, apply for the extension in May. Let me know how it works out for you...

@Gar****
you don't apply for it in May. You have to apply for it by the end of March. And you get 60 day covid extension. Which takes you up to end of May. BTW, I don't need it, I have 1 year visa already. I just have to report every 90 days

"Local officers in each province can now issue 60 day extensions on expired tourist visas up to March 30, which will make the order valid up to May 30. Thailand’s Immigration Bureau Chief has announced the further visa extension for stranded travellers and tourists because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, both in Thailand and around the world."
