Surat thani immigration just rejected my hand drawn map. But they weren't clear on what they want. Does anyone know the instructions for making one?

I know several people that have had Google maps rejected. I always go with the same hand-drawn map (but it's fairly detailed) and it's always been accepted. Put yourself in immigration's shoes for a moment - could they find your house easily with the map you've drawn? That's probably the criteria.

Can't wait to hand draw or printout my Google map from home to immigration, all 125km route of it.

Why are immigration asking you to draw a map anyway? For a visa?
oh like a retirement visa? I had one for a while but did not get asked for this. Maybe I was just lucky.

Last time, I brought several maps, some hand made, others from Google, or tourist maps. Made clear the house location with address, all highlighted and in clear and block print. Let them choose. Suspect all they want is graphical instructions to go from the IO to one's house. Least amount of trouble/confusion for them. They just cannot tell you that upfront.

They think expats are potential competitors. How would you treat your competitors? Smile, but give maximum pain.

They want to know that you know where you live in relation to the immigration office, that's why most require a hand drawn map. Saying that, the immigration officer (and there have been a number of different ones over the years) usually takes my very rough hand drawn map and completely redraws it in a much neater and legible fashion. They've never just rejected my scribbles.
I did that last year and CB Immigration-O said no good and threw in trash. I had a Thai with me for the next 3 trips at Immigration to finish a Non-O Ret on my own. She required a hand-drawn map.
I did something like that as well as my very basic hand drawn map and he didn't even look at the Google map, just took my hand drawn one. It's a strange requirement as surely a Google map is better.
