Hey, I'm on DTV with Muay Thai in Chiang Mai. My passport is about to expire, so I applied for a new one here in Thailand. Embassy noticed that I have a middle name that hasn't been used on any documents since I was a child, but now it has to be included again. So my DTV is not only linked to an old passport number, but also to a different name.
Does anyone have any useful tips on how I can transfer my DTV? I'd really like to avoid having to re-apply.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transferring their DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) to a new passport where their name has changed to include a middle name that was not used previously. Various commenters shared their experiences and suggestions: some advised visiting Immigration to transfer the DTV stamp, others recommended carrying both passports due to the name discrepancy, and a few suggested contacting the embassy for assistance. Overall, it's important to have both passports and any necessary documentation when addressing visa issues with immigration.
I just came through with my new last name and passport number (due to marriage) I carried both passports and legal documents. They did pull me to the side to verify everything but I got through. They didnât even look at my marriage certificate. They just put the new stamp in new/current passport.
Just carry both passports. No problem with different name. Plenty of people have similar issue, for example girls who recently got married and changed their last name
You should go to Immigration Division 1 and transfer your DTV stamp to your new passport. I think that helps a lot for your next arrival. I did the same last month with my emergency passport and had no problems re-entering the country.
Normally they can't transfer your visa to a new passport, because it's an evisa. What they can do is put a stamp in your new passport referencing your old passport but you should continue to carry both
I know thatâs the process for transferring stamps and it works well for Non-Immigrant visas since youâre dealing with an extension stamp in the majority of instances since the initial visa was âconsumedâ.
With the DTV, I imagine at the very least they can transfer their current entry stamp but I believe their underlying visa will still use their old information.
I mean, I guess using what is essentially an entry stamp might work but I feel like it should probably include the visa number.
I canât imagine Kamphaeng Phet immigration sees too many people on DTVs so itâd be interesting to see how larger offices treat the visa issue as this may have just been their field expedient solution.
