Hello everyone.

Need some advice or opinions. Romanian passport holder here.

TL;DR - Any reports that KL embassy refusing SETV after having another SETV from the same embassy? I Will have almost 9 months gap between Thailand visits; 1,5 month stayed in Thailand this year already (1 January - 15 February).

----------------

Long version:

I plan to visit Kuala Lumpur embassy on 4th of December 2019 (waiting for appointment dates to open up) for a SETV. Had received 1xSETV from KL on December 2018 and USED it.

Reading on this group (and other internet sources) that some SE Asian Thai Embassies have started to deny your application if you already had a SETV in your passport (not sure if USED or not does matter).

Any word of advice or first hand experience with this specific situation regarding SETV approved in KL with another at least 1 SETV?

Why I choose KL: as a Romanian citizen, I do not need visa for Malaysia. I get visa exemption at each entry for 90days. KL embassy doesn't require proof of funds; as a Romanian not having EUR or USD currency, I want to skip the extra hassle of converting the currency into EUR/USD - not sure what is the correct process here that would be accepted by KL embassy.

Why I'm not going to my own country Thailand embassy: I need to have a round trip plane ticket. I do not return home after my Thai SETV expires. I will move on to Vietnam and after that to US, before finally returning home to Romania. Did this exact itinerary last year, starting with December 2018 .

I booked a flight with AirAsia from KL to Hua Hin. Starting my Thailand trip with 1 week stay over there.

My Thailand history:

2016 - 2017

VOA: 24 December 2016 - 8 January 2017 (1 day overstay) - 16 days

2017 - 2018

VOA: 21 December 2017 - 23 December 2017 - 4 days

(Cambodia trip between these dates)

VOA: 29 December 2017 - 8 January 2018 - 11 days

Feb 2018 got a SETV from Bucharest, Romania. NOT USED. Cancelled trip.

2018 - 2019

VOA: 5 December 2018 - 10 December 2018 - 5 days

(Went to Kuala Lumpur for SETV)

SETV: 26 December 2018 - 15 February 2019 - 50 days

Appreciate any insights anyone can have.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Romanian passport holder seeks advice on the likelihood of being granted a Second Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur after having previously obtained another SETV. They express concerns about potential rejections due to having had a SETV before and provide details about their travel history and reasons for choosing the KL embassy over others. Commenters suggest that the possibility of denial is low and share personal experiences regarding visa applications.

UPDATE: I've got the SETV without any issues. Booked application on 4th of December at 10:00. At 10:00 sharp, I was out of the embassy with my application finished (helped that I had all papers as expected) Returned on 6th (5th was Thai national holiday and all embassies closed) and was out with visa on passport after 10min of booked time (14:30).

1 hours ago I landed in Hua Hin and the entire experience was excellent. All 3 ladies IO's were very friendly.

Much better experience than last year at DMK; I was grilled for 15min. Anyone can view my history in my original post.

The reports about deny a visa are all based on applying for back to back tourist visa. Not for people who like to visit Thailand as a tourist 1 time a year for 90 days.
