Advice needed.

We where about to try to get a SETV in Phnom Penh. Reading a lot on "Thaivisa" website, we realize there is something called "Void without prejudice" stamp that happens a lot lately.

Turns out if you have 3 or more SETV visa in your passport (we do have 3), you may get this stamp.

I am trying to understand if this rule apply to having 3 visas from the same embassy, or just a random decision ?

Is there anyone who experience visa in PP lately ?

I read more and more that they don't follow the rules now and make some strange decisions.

Is it better to avoid?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges and uncertainty of obtaining a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) from the Thai Consulate in Phnom Penh, particularly for applicants with prior SETVs. There’s concern regarding a common occurrence of receiving a 'Void without prejudice' stamp, particularly after holding three SETVs. While it is stated that there are no strict rules governing the number of visas one can have in their passport, repeated applications may lead to increased scrutiny by the consulate. Community members share mixed experiences of obtaining SETVs in Phnom Penh, emphasizing the importance of providing thorough documentation and being wary of the potential for arbitrary decisions by consulate officers.

Not sure the OP can replicate my situation as is it. Ticket back to home country, stamped Thai bank statement 10 times the minimum required, several re-entry permits on these SETVs that indicate travelling (not only for visa purposes), and so on. I think he might be better off in HCMC.

I've obtained SETV in Phnom Penh several times in the past with no issues. However they can be pedantic with the required documentation especially bank statements need to be certified ("stamped").

Yes that's what I mean, need to be prepared and all, other consulate the process is easier. My problem with getting Thai Visa in Cambodia started in 2013..., Laos is still the place to go imo.

Avoid Cambodia for Thai SETV, a nightmare (talking from my 2018 experience while living there for a year). They are very strict and care about ur recent history of Thai Entry. p.s: U will get a lot of generic answer here, plz remember that it depend on consulate and the mood of officer that day. There is no *by the law* answer that apply here, how the law is apply vary a lot.

You seem already to have got advice regarding "void" matter from
@T**
...

Try to search 'Phnom Penh void' or whatever keywords you prefer in this group you will find bunch of 'actual' report from PP.

There is NO rule of how much tourist visa's a person can have in his/hers passport. BUT the Tourist visa is for people spending longer holiday inside Thailand, if you apply for back to back Tourist Visa you take the risk of getting denied or void without prejudice on this visa, as the Consulate suspects you of living inside Thailand.

What sort of instinctive decision would you like us to make for you? 🙂

As said it is the decision of the person who grants you the visa or put the stamp "Void without prejudice" on it. I understand your question, but if that person is a member I hope he will help you.

Thanks, anyone else here who have ACTUAL experience with this embassy? I already know there are no rules and that we are not suppose to live in TH and all that, I ask to get a more instinctive decision for my personal situation with all its complexities.
