TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the difficulties of extending a retirement visa from outside Thailand, particularly from Australia. Users advise that these extensions typically require presence in Thailand, and if already expired, a new NON-O visa application must be made at a Thai embassy or consulate. Assistance from the Thai embassy is recommended for specific guidance.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.

there is no way to get a new yearly extension when you're out of the country :/ It runs out and you start all over from scratch :(

they are unlikely to add retirees to the list of approved people who can request entry to thailand anytime soon :(

BUT if they did, AND if you applied for entry, met the requirements were approved to enter they would stamp you in on your current extension (which you say is valid until March 2021)

uou cant do it there you have to be in Thailand to do en extension, once the country is open you'll have to apply for a new Non-O visa what you can extend after.

A visa is not extendable. If you are on an extension already and cannot re-enter Thailand before it expires, you need to apply for a new visa from the Thai embassy or consulate.

If you aren't coming to Thailand this year, I would think it's straight forward. Contact the Thai embassy in your country.
