Hi,

1. how to prove baht20k for Tourist Visa(TR) application in Vientianne? Can I show bank statement or they need see the cash ? If cash does it have to be in baht or I can show them in usd ?

2. I plan to get 60 days, then extend 30 days. After that, I want apply for another 60 days and extend for 30 again. Do I need to show them onward ticket after 90 days ?

3. Do I need to prepare a travel itinerary?

Sorry if I ask too much but I am new to this and thought of asking for updated info. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about the requirements for applying for a Tourist Visa (TR) at the Thai consulate in Vientiane, particularly regarding proof of funds (20,000 baht), the need for a travel itinerary, and whether an onward ticket is necessary after 90 days. Respondents clarified that the Thai consulate in Vientiane does not require the proof of funds, onward travel, or accommodation confirmation for Vietnamese passport holders who are unable to obtain tourist visas there. Alternative options were suggested for Vietnamese nationals.

And on this note I believe
@Han***
, who holds a vietnamese passport has all the information she needs to make a decision on where to go to get a tourist visa.

I can't see anything else being added to the post.

I would say we're done, Good Luck :)

To all the people who responded on thsi thread, I am sorry to have delted your posts BUT as soon as she said she was from Vietnam and I realized that country is on the list I called a well known visa run company that goes to Vientiane, confirmed Vietnamese CANNOT get tourist visas there and then deleted mine and everyone's posts

Sorry about that boyz & squirrelz

Just so you do know, if you hold a passport from vietnam you are NOT on the list of countries that can get only TWO 30 day visa exempt entries in a calendar year. You can border-bounce for a 30 day visa exempt stamp at borders as much as you want to, there is no official limit.

You can go to the consulates in Ho Chi Minh CIty or Hanoi OR you can use Penang or Kuala Lumpur BUT you cannot use the consulates in Lao.

Okay, HANG ABOUT :O
@Hannah ****
, I am totally WRONG :/

Vietnam is on the list of countries that CANNOT use the thai consulates in Lao for tourist visas

you are confusing TWO completely different government offices. The thai consulates in other countries are run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and they sell visas to thailand outside the country.

The thai immigration offices are run by the Royal Thai Police and they sell visas and extensions inside the country.

I wouldn't trust a word that an immigration officer said inside the country about what you can or can't do at a thai consulate outside the country.

There was a discussion on this before, as they state "are advised" to apply in country of residence. I went to immigration office in Promenada and asked, they said it is ok to apply in Laos.

you're in luck (y)

The thai consulate in Vientiane is the ONLY thai consulate in S/E Asia that does NOT REQUIRE any of the 3-proof-ofz

proof of 20K baht in a bank account

proof of onward travel (in 60 - 90 days)

proof of a hotel booking or confirmed lodging

Hi Tod, I hold a Vietnam passport. I have entered Thailand 4 times this year. Do you confirm that they won't ask for proof of onward travel?
