TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether they should book a return flight within the 60 days allowed on their tourist visa or if a flight 6 months from now would be problematic. Community responses clarify that while it is typically expected to have a return flight within 60 days, airlines often do not strictly enforce this. Additionally, proof of onward travel to another country can suffice instead of a return flight, along with necessary documentation such as proof of funds and accommodation.

Not have to be a return flight, proof of onward travel to other country will satisfy your airline company. Immigration can ask for proof of funds 20.000 Thb or equivelent currency in Cash, accommodation and onward travel.

Technically within 60 days...but they don't ask for it that often...but yes if they do, then 60 days out of the country, not necessarily home country
