Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the process of making a new ED visa.

I’m french and currently holding an ED visa with my university but it will end 11 of September and I can extend it if only 2weeks (end of my semester/graduation and so of my visa).

Now I want to change and make an ED visa with a Thai language school (Duke Language school) and I wanted to know how long will it take for them to do all the paperwork. Will it be ready on time for the 11 September ?

Also, do you know in nearby countries which one are the more favorable to give you ED visa for language school ?

Thank you for your reply

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about obtaining a new ED visa from Duke Language School in Thailand, as their current ED visa expires on September 11. They want to know how long the paperwork will take and if it's feasible to have it ready by that date. Community responses suggest that enrolling and paying tuition at the school is essential to start the process, with the approval letter from the Ministry of Education potentially taking 3-4 weeks. Users also mention that Vientiane and Yangon are favorable locations for obtaining ED visas.

, did you already enroll in Duke Language School and pay your tuition? Doing that is what gets the process started. I'd say you're not going to have any problem with them getting the Ministry of Education paperwork in time.

BUT contact them because the faster you get the process started the faster the paperwork comes back

I contacted them already and will start the process on Monday because they need some paper from my school that I can’t get before Friday

You really need to ask the specific school, but in my experience it can take up to 3-4 weeks for them to get the MOE approval letter. So the longer you delay applying at the school, the higher the risk of not getting it by 11 Sept.

Vientiane and Yangon are both easy to get ED visa ( as you refer to it).
