Morning people...

So my friend has a question...

When she has finished her ASQ...

She has a friend who has said that she can stay with him... they are both French...

He is already renting an apartment for himself but told her she can stay with him...

What document does she need for this to be okey as her name won't be on his rental contract?... she is worried

Filing tm30 etc...

Anybody can help.. would be much appreciated 🙌

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the documentation needed for her friend to stay in Thailand with another French friend after completing their Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ). Since her name won't be on the rental contract, it's important to file a TM30 form. Respondents suggested that either her friend or the landlord can file the TM30 using the rental lease to ensure compliance with Thai immigration regulations.

This is really interesting / good to know. Are you saying the details that you put on your STV can’t be changed once you arrive in Thailand (eg you can’t change hotels or your travel plans in general)?
Meg *******
Right... I am seeing some people on here enter on 60 day TR visa and then extend for 30 days and then a further 60 days! Is there any indication how much longer this approach will be possible? Might be more flexible than an STV....

@Meg ******
as of right now, STV entry can be extend for 90days per application, twice. You can (or supposed to be able to) stay total 270days

@Meg ******
it’s unknown how much longer they will offer the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. The 30 day extension of stay based on tourism has always been an option for people entering on TR visas

basically, that’s correct. The STV are for snowbirds who already have a condo here in Thailand

what did she put on her STV application? Assume it was a refundable hotel booking she can now cancel?

if she is on the STV visa...she needs to use the stay information she gave the Thai Embassy to get her STV visa.

Also when she seeks to extend the STV she will need proof again at that time.

Here is the requirement of the STV...

The applicant is required to provide one of the following evidence of payment:

9.1 A fully paid hotel reservation for your stay in Thailand issued by the hotel showing the duration of stay, and hotel’s contact details and tax ID number;

9.2 A fully paid residential lease in Thailand issued by the lessor showing the duration of stay, and the lessor’s contact details and tax ID number;

9.3 A hire-purchase or mortgage agreement of immovable property;

9.4 Condominium title deed;

And please be aware of this terminology...

2.5 STV cannot be changed to any other type of visa during the duration of stay in Thailand.

2.6 If the STV holder is FOUND to be in BREACH of the CONDITIONS for ENTRY into Thailand, the stay permit will be revoked immediately and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand.

Note 2.6 ..

These requirements are found on all Thai Embassy websites

She goes with the friend she's staying with to the immigration office and files a TM30 (using his lease) OR the land lord files one for her
