Hello champions,

Do I need a letter from my landlord for applying a residence certificate, in addition to the copy of the lease contract and the TM30 certificate?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
No, you do not need a letter from your landlord to apply for a residence certificate. You will need the lease contract, signed copies, your passport, and it is advisable to have the TM30 certificate, although it may not be strictly necessary to show.

To get a residence certificate you must have a residence registered. You or your landlord did within 24 hours after you arrived at that address, but it is all depending on enforcement of this rule at the Immigration area where you stay.

TM 30 Form,

Signed copy id page passport,

Signed copies ID card and blue book of land/house owner. And in some offices copy of rental contract. After your address is registered you can apply for the residence certificate, it takes about a month to get this. Alternative is using a visa agent for 500 or 1000 Thb to get this quicker.

As is said it depends on Immigration Office, as there are more than 75 offices nation wide, it is nice information but without knowing where

stays we can not give a correct answer.

I asked for the TM30 to register my stay at my wife’s house, where I also have the yellow book....not one person in Udon Thani immigration had a clue what the TM30 form was even when my wife tried explaining....ended up just leaving! 🙈

Don't need. Contract and signed copy, and passport and signed copies of the relevant pages. The TM30 should be done, but AFAIK is not needed to show - but if you have it, better to show it with a signed copy.
