Hi everyone, I currently live in Hong Kong, but am in the process of applying for a work visa for a job in Chiang Mai. I've been told I need a police clearance certificate from HK for my visa application.
The HK police require a letter from Thailand requesting the police clearance, as well as a postal address to send it. Any ideas how I can get this or an address to have is sent to in Thailand?
*The ORIGINAL and a PHOTOCOPY (for each applicant) of a request letter from the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority, which contains the applicant’s name and clearly indicates that the production of the Certificate is required.*
*There should also be a POSTAL ADDRESS of the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority since the application result will be directly sent to them by registered mail. *
*If only the electronic copy of the request letter is available, please print it out for submission.*
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on obtaining a police clearance certificate from the Hong Kong police, which is needed for their work visa application for a job in Chiang Mai. The Hong Kong police require a request letter from a Thai authority that indicates the need for the certificate and provides a postal address for delivery. A commenter suggests providing the police with a printout of the Thai consulate's requirements, as the Hong Kong police cannot directly submit the document to Thai authorities.
