Good afternoon group....

Need to get Police Clearance Certificate (to apply Non B ) for my Indian wife. Recently she is on tourist visa. I got a suggestion to go through VFS to get PCC but they are asking for the work permit (as per their checklist on web) so does that mean she needs to get work permit first and get PCC from VFS and then she will be eligible to apply Non B?? or is there any easier way to get PCC here in Thailand?? or can someone get it in India ( local police station) on her behalf and send it here??

Thanx in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process for obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for an Indian wife applying for a Non B visa in Thailand while currently on a tourist visa. The individual is exploring options for obtaining the PCC, including whether it can be secured through VFS, which requires a work permit or if it can be obtained through local police in India. Commenters suggest using the Thai police website for the PCC and mention that while it is challenging for Indians to secure a Non B visa in Thailand, it's not impossible. They also note that if applying for a teaching position, PCC from both India and Thailand may be necessary.

For Indians it is hard to get a Non b INSIDE Thailand ,agreed, but not impossible. Only those employers will ask u to go bk to India or even for foreigners to go outside TH who are not paying govt. approved minimum wages. And getting a Non b inside TH for anyone, let alone Indians is a herculean task for most employers.

PCC can be obtained India from your nearest police station which is valid for 6 months. She should go there personally , if she is applying in a school for teaching job in a school in TH she will have to get a PCC from both India & Thailand. I never heard of VFS giving a PCC though

I agree with David, however last week I got my PCC through Indian embassy, Bangkok. VFS is just a source between us and any embassy. You have to do all documentation via VFS. For me it just took 3 days via VFS to obtain the PCC.

However , if any offer is made via skype interviews while ur in home country then yes the WP3 receipt sent by employer is needed to apply for PCC in India , but I got it thru an agent who charged a bit extra and I didn't even moved my ass anywhere. I did give him my offer letter but later I came to know that he didn't show it just paid the kickback. If you doingit urself thenu gotta show it.

Ok , so I wrote that comment considering my case. I got the PCC back home after showing employemnt letter. I came here on T visa and then got it converted to Non B and that's when my PCC was done here with papers from my uni.
