UPDATE - CHECK THE COMMENTS FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION!!
I know I must bore you to death but I promise I tried to google it and I am getting nowhere! New question: I need a Thai police check for a job in Europe (moving in July). I know that Bangkok is the only place to get one. But what are the requirements? I found an official PDF from the Bangkok Police force with requirements but I am pretty sure that only has to do with Thailand. E.g from the requirements I found: if the police check is for a job, they require a letter or contract from the employer but I think this is from a THAI employer. I just need a paper that states that during my time in Thailand, I have been a very decent human, haha. Please help! <3๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Thai police check for employment in Europe, you need a copy of your passport (signed), a copy of your current visa (signed), a letter from your prospective employer stating you require the police check, and a fee of 160THB. You can apply at the Bangkok Police Headquarters, where you'll fill out forms and provide documents. It's recommended to also bring recent passport photos as a backup. If youโre currently residing in Thailand on a visa exemption with extensions, you might still be eligible to apply.
- Copy of your passport (signed at the bottom with the same signature as per your passport)
- Copy of your current visa (signed at the bottom with the same signature as per your passport)
- A letter of your future employer that you require a police check
- 160THB (that's including the postage fee to send you the documents)
When you get to the Bangkok Police headquarters, you have to ask for the police clearance for abroad (spelled aboard on their sign haha)
There, they will check your passport and give you a queue number. Then, you will meet with police officer who will go through your documents and will ask you to fill in some forms. They have a webcam installed to take your photo but just bring passport photos with you in case, you never know if you are there on a day that the webcam malfunctions ;-)
It took a a while to get our police checks as we did not have copies of our passport or letters from employers ready, but the third try was a charm!
I got one on a 90 day tourist visa 3 years ago, so I could apply for a job but had to leave the country to get a non b

Hi. My son needs one for a work visa for Canada so needs to do it from France so by post. They ask for passport photocopy. Anyone know if this can be black and white or is it colour (illegal to do in France) ?
Whenever I make copies for thai immigration, it's always black and white. But do they mean an official copy of the passport? That should be issued by the embassy...

Yes, educators need to show that they have a clean check as it is very important for child safety and protection - ESPECIALLY when coming from countries like Thailand
Where are you now? If you're applying for a teaching position or certain visas inside Thailand, you need a Thai background check (as well as one from your home country). If you're applying from outside of Thailand you only need one from your home country.
she applying for a job in Europe why would you need a Thai police check for that. Thailand has no jurisdiction in Europe

Jo I didn't understand that was what she was doing. Reguardless though, some countries ask for a police background check from all counties you've lived in the past 5 years. It's not that Thailand has jurisdiction in Eupope, just Europe wants to see if she's committed crimes here.

I just went to the Police HQ complex in Bangkok and showed my passport. They took my fingerprints and 20 minutes later gave me the report.
