How can I extend my guardian visa in Thailand if my son's birth certificate requirements have changed?

GUARDIAN VISA Question: I need to extend my guardian visa. I went today (to Chiang Mai immigration and waited 10 hours) with all the relevant documents including a notarised / apostille birth certificate (stamped by the Foreign Office in UK) of my son and was told this wouldn't do and I need to get it stamped by the British Embassy in Bangkok. This is despite the same document being adequate last year. Have there been any changes in brith certificate requirements for guardians? The issue now is that the British Embassy in Bangkok does not do this and clearly lists the services they provide - this not being one of them. Any suggestions/ advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending a guardian visa in Thailand, specifically due to new requirements regarding their son's birth certificate. Despite having a notarized birth certificate previously accepted, immigration authorities in Chiang Mai now require it to be stamped by the British Embassy in Bangkok, which does not provide this service. The user is looking for solutions or advice on how to navigate this situation.

Needs to be done here in the UK. Possibly will then need to be translated and then stamped at the Thai Embassy in London before being accepted in Thailand.

I'm not sure what they expect only where you need to get it done in the UK.

Sorry, I cannot be anymore helpful.

Thanks Ron. It has been legalised already - this is what I provided last year and again today. It may be that I need to get it stamped at the Thai Embassy in London but I assume this is therefore a new thing? The officer told me to go to the British Embassy in Bangkok.... who don't provide this 'stamping' service.
