Any Aussie members here?
Asking on behalf of my Japanese female friend with Australian son who is attending international school in BKK.
Both of them need to do visa extension (ED visa for the kid and Non-O visa for the mother) at Immigration ChangWattana by the end of this month.
They got 90 day Non-Immigrant visas from Japan last month.
The question is about "Birth Certificate" to prove relationship as mother and son.
Does anyone know if the birth certificate needs to be certified by Australian Embassy in Bangkok and also by Department of Consular Affairs in Chaengwattana prior to the visa extension date?
Thanks in advance. ๐๐ผ
TLDR : Answer Summary
A Japanese woman with an Australian son is seeking advice on whether the birth certificate for visa extension purposes needs to be certified by the Australian Embassy in Bangkok and the Department of Consular Affairs. Comments indicate that certification by the Australian embassy is necessary.
