Hey, apologies for the basic question but could someone confirm which immigration centre in Bangkok I need to go to if I have a 60-day tourist visa which I want to extend 30 days. I've never extended in Bangkok before and I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 60-day tourist visa by an additional 30 days in Bangkok, you should visit the main immigration office located at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road (Building B). Specifically, head to Section J, where they handle extensions for tourist visas.

If you have a 60 day tourist visa that you got from a thai consulate in another country before coming here in Bangkok you go to the main immigration office at the government complex (Building B) out on Chaengwattana road to get your extension.

You want to go to Section J <- they do extensions on tourist visas

You go here;

Hey again, I was just wondering exactly what you showed them for TM30. My Airbnb host didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and hadn’t filled in the form and submitted it. I’ve had him fill out the forms, is this okay to show immigration, or should I have something further?

sorry for the late response. My landlord did it for me.

you'll find that out when you go to apply for the extension 🙁 That he filled IN the forms doesn't mean he FILED a TM30 for you. It'll either work or it won't and you are far from the first person who couldn't get a TM30 because they stayed at an AirBnB place, who had to go check into a hotel that WILL file a TM30 in order to get an extension.

As I said you won't know until you go and try for the extension. It'll either work or it won't

Ah, i see. If he hasn’t filed it already, can he simply file it now?

as long as you have a TM30 filed for the address you're staying at you'll be fine when you go for the extension IF you're asked for proof of one having been filed..

Is Bangkok Immigration regularly asking for them? I've been seeing from people that you need it, and some people get extensions in Bangkok without even knowing what that is. Does it kind of just depend on the officer you get or what?

I think it's a combination of previous entry/stay history, and the mood of the particular officer you're in front of.

I have seen them ask for it especially with people who have a previous 30 day extension from another entry that was issued in another province
