TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for a 30-day visa extension at an immigration office in Bangkok typically takes about 30 minutes if you go early and have all required paperwork. Actual times can vary based on the number of people present; some individuals reported being able to pick up their extensions within an hour, particularly if appointments are made in advance.

It’s approximately a 30 minute process. How long it will take you depends on how many people there are in front of you.

When we renewed ours in Patong, we came back to pick it up an hour later.

Assuming you mean 30 day extension for Tourist Visa or Visa exempt, it depends on how many people are there. If you make an appointment then the appointment window you're given is 15 minutes. It's not supposed to be a long process. And there's no under consideration period, you'll walk out with your entire 30 days.
