TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 60-day tourist visa for an additional 30 days in Bangkok, you need to go to the main government complex at Chaengwattana. This is applicable even if you obtained your visa from an embassy or through the online Thai E-Visa system.

I got an E-Visa ( E-Tourist Visa) from the Thai Consulate website in the US.

In the past I have gone to IT Square to extend the Exempt Visa that's why I'm asking.

Yes. Exempt entries got to IT Square. Tourist visa (e-visa or sticker) entries go to CW.
