The Thai embassy of Jakarta asked me to add proof of tax payment.

Is there any possible way to write a letter and explain that the person who is applying has not been to any country in the last years for more than 180 days in a period of 12 a month and therefore there is no proof of tax payment.
Summary so far
The user seeks advice on how to draft a letter for the Thai embassy in Jakarta, explaining their lack of tax payment proof due to being outside the country for less than 180 days within the last year. The comment section features a debate on tax obligations for individuals living abroad, particularly addressing the nuances of tax residency and responsibilities based on income origin.

No, there are countries with no taxes, and if you have residency there, you don't pay anything.

You mean NOT everyone. I and thousands of expats working in Gulf States don't pay income tax but do pay withholding tax on interest earnings in home country if one becomes non-resident which is commonly 1 or 2 years abroad. For DTV applicants in tax free countries, it pays to include a withholding tax statement noting there is no income tax implication.

Did you apply trhu soft power? If you applied trhu remote job then the "I don't pay taxes" thing doesn't make any sense.

If you have income, someone pays the taxes, or should, right? If you are content creator for example, and not paying taxes, whats your home country and we start with that? Anonymous, so most likely a troll or tax evader (and knows that)

Its possible to do this(bouncing around) on paper, but has repurcussions on things like buying property, bank accounts or getting residency visas. If someone has no proper tax returns for years, they better get ready for bureaucratic hurdles.

The troll is you. If you are less than X days (varies between 180 <- Thailand or 185 <- Germany): then you are not tax citizen, of any given country.

If you are 100 days in 3 different countries, and
*****
days in a fourth, you most likely do not pay any taxes in any of them.

However Germany for example introduced a "taxed at source" tax, so even people staying only a few months can be taxed on the income they generate INSIDE Germany - but not on any other income.

YOU ARE WRONG. not tax resident does that mean you don;t pay tax for the income you derived from any given country. the tax residency status only make the difference in determining how you are taxed and the tax rate and relief etc. For example, you MUST pay tax in Thailand for any income derived in Thailand regardless of your tax residency status. i took the trouble to google Germany and it is the same. if the source of income is in Germany, then you need to pay tax for the income regardless of your tax residency status.

this is your first sentence "The troll is you. If you are less than X days (varies between 180 <- Thailand or 185 <- Germany): then you are not tax citizen, of any given country.

If you are 100 days in 3 different countries, and
*****
days in a fourth, you most likely do not pay any taxes in any of them." .you are contradicting yourself .. anyway. just forget it. you want to misinterpret and talk nonsense, none of my biz. you are the one who got into trouble for thinking you don;t need to pay tax later.. ciao..

"For example, you MUST pay tax in Thailand for any income derived in Thailand regardless of your tax residency status. i took the trouble to google Germany and it is the same." That is exactly what I wrote: "" However Germany for example introduced a "taxed at source" tax, so even people staying only a few months can be taxed on the income they generate INSIDE Germany ""

So? Why disagree. "" For example, you MUST pay tax in Thailand for any income derived in Thailand regardless of your tax residency status. "" only from work. And not from any other income.

So, why nitpick?
