ORIGINAL POSTERI’m Chinese and my husband is from Benin (West Africa). We are currently living in Benin. We want to apply for a Thai visa but there is no Thailand embassy in the country. Can we fly to Malaysia first and then apply for a Thai visa there in the Thai consulate in Malaysia?

可以尝试在中国的泰国大使馆申请，申请之前先发邮件询问你的情况是否可以办理，说明当地没有泰国大使馆，你是中国人，你和你老公是合法夫妻之类的，通常情况他们会同意申请。我不能完全确定，但是他们比较人性化

那肯定是可以的 ， 您的護照為CN 但是residency 在 IT 是可以申請的啊。申請的不是中國的evisa . 他是global 的 批准方也是🇮🇹申請evisa 都會問你residency 在哪裡 .

I don’t know the exact answer but my guess would be not.
A number of the nearby (to Thailand) embassies won’t process African passports. Probably best to find the closest embassy to you now and apply there.
Perhaps others with direct experience may be able to confirm or deny this.
