I kindly would like to ask group member that I am currently working in one local Thai construction company and I want to change my work permit and visa to another international construction company in Thailand. My question is I want to cancel my work permit and visa by myself. Because my current company make a little difficult to me. And my next employer told me that they will submit my new work permit at the same day after I cancel my work permit. I knew about the process of work permit cancellation by holder is I need to fill the form and at the same day I need to cancel my visa with my current company and need to extend 7 days to wait for new one with my new employer.I want to know if I miss something that I understand about the process. Cause I am Burmese Engineer and my country situation is worse I canβt go back to my country. I read an article that I need an employer statement letter for canceling visa also . I want to know the sample . Thanks a lots for your help. Hope all you guys are okay with Thailand visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Burmese engineer is seeking advice on changing their work permit and visa to a new international construction company in Thailand while facing difficulties with their current employer. They want to know if they can cancel their work permit and visa by themselves, the necessary steps involved, and if they need an employer's statement letter. Various comments highlight the complexity of the process, the need for employer involvement, and clarify the nuances regarding the cancellation and visa extension procedures.
You have Non.B visa like foreigner employees or Non L-A visa because as far as i know , Burmese employees are working as Immigrant visa and no need to cancel visa when they change job just cancel old wp by getting cancellation letter from old employer and renew it with new company( i mention details from my Burmese girlfriend and she has green passport holder)
yes she has NonL-A visa and she is green passport holder, which is used in Thailand only for Burmese immigrant worker and she has ordinary WP(blue book)
That's my pleasure and sorry i could not help your situation which is the first time i 've ever known as Burmese Non.B visa holder as long as 12 years in Thailand , i also thank you contribute my knowledge about it
Thanks for your intention for my situation Sir. Thanks in advance again. I will update my experience after I get it. Hope you guy are also okay with your visa .ππΌ

It depends on a lot of conditions involved if you can change the employer without leaving Thailand. You may be able to re-apply for an extension based on a contract with a new employer, you may need to 're-apply' for a new non-B, or you may need to leave Thailand to apply for a new Non-B. It all depends on how your old and new employers work concurrently for your visa/work permit. It's a bit more complicated process than we think so not many people be able to change the job without leaving Thailand smoothly.
Thank a lots Sir.Hope my new employer can do all process smoothly for me.

Looks like there is some slight confusion happening in how the process works:
>My question is I want to cancel my work permit and visa by myself.
Cancelling work permits is outside the scope of the group, and depends on the local labor department. You *MAY* need the employer's support to get the work permit cancelled.
After the work permit is cancelled, you will then go to the immigration office and cancel your current one year extension of stay based on employment.
> I need to cancel my visa with my current company and need to extend 7 days to wait for new one with my new employer
There is no 7 day extension of stay; there is a 7 day extension of stay denied stamp. Once you receive this stamp, you MUST leave Thailand.
How it should work is on the SAME DAY that you cancel your existing one year extension of stay based on employment your new employer will help you get a NEW one year extension of stay based on employment
