How quick is the approval process for a Non-O marriage visa in Thailand?
UPDATE! Received the non-o marriage visa after 8 working days! Here’s the pro tip- message them on Line- a lovely woman said she would check for me… and within hours I got it. I can’t thank you all for your messages and advice.

I submitted all of my marriage visa paperwork to the Thai Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City. Did I make a mistake? I’m reading horror stories about getting approved. I’ve been sitting in Danang forever waiting for an approval.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I don’t know who else to ask to get answers. No emails or phone calls get answered.

I used the Thai Embassy in Washington DC to get my visa. I had a slight issue with uploading documents and could not get hold of them, no matter what I tried - UNTIL my wife learned that THEY respond to Questions on the LINE App. I sent a question on LINE and got a response in an hour.
I suggest you see if you can locate that Embassy’s LINE App Info and try that.

Leo Kauranen okay, if I was you I would send a Facebook Messenger message this afternoon. A polite request for an update on your visa application. Give your passport and visa application numbers in the message so the immigration officer can look up your application easily.

OPAndy Oswald thanks Andy- I couldn’t find any way to message on messenger for the thai consulate in HCMC but I did find a Line account but no one has responded.

Where did you get married, Non O though marriage is not to bad usually, as long as no mistakes. Mine when originally entering Thailand took a while (20 days) but was during covid.

OPGraeme Drake I got married already in Thailand. Immigration told me I needed to leave the country to get the non-O but now I’m thinking that may not be true

Leo Kauranen ok don't know about that, but getting married in Thailand makes life a lot easier when it comes to extending your Non O though marriage when you go into the extension process. Should have no problem applying if married that's what the visa is for, married to a Thai and following into Thailand

Could always enter on a visa exempt, go through the process that way. Or just use an agent? You are probably burning through money just sitting there waiting. I know agents are "controversial" but they get the job done quickly and efficiently unlike most things here.

OPCris Murl you mean I can just go back to Thailand on a 30’day tourist visa and apply in Thailand for the non-O? Yeah I’m burning through cash here like crazy

Leo Kauranen it’s not as straightforward now. unless you rather use an agent i rather you wait for approval still. Even with my tourist visa the immigration where i stay at told me to go home and get my non-o. I ended up using an agent elsewhere

OPGraham Seal allegedly I have to leave the country for my initial non-O. On working day #8 when on their website it says maximum of 5 days. Patience is unfortunately not my virtue.

Define forever. Non-O applications are relatively quick, if you meet all the criteria you will get it. Usually contacting them via Facebook Messenger is more likely to receive a response
