How can I apply for a DTV visa for my family in Thailand?

Curious, has anyone applied for the DTV with a family?

Parent 1- DTV

Parent 2-Dependent

Child 1-Dependent

Child 2-Dependent

I know you’re able to go this route, according to the Thai evisa website, but I’m wondering if there is anyone who’s successfully done so within this group?

Could you comment or message if you have, please? I have some questions. ☺️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around individuals inquiring and sharing experiences about applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand with family dependents. Many participants confirm that it is indeed possible to apply with dependents, provided that the main applicant secures approval first, after which dependents can apply referencing the primary applicant's visa number. Required documentation includes proof of funds, such as showing a minimum of 500,000 THB per family member. Participants share various personal experiences, highlighting different consulates and the general ease of the application process, while clarifying questions regarding dependent eligibility and required financial proofs.

Yes we did as a family of four. I got mine approved first, then applied for my husband and 2 sons all of them as dependents. Got ours June last year in Jakarta.

We did, we were planning on making both my husband and I primary applicants, but when I emailed the consulate about a different question they said to make one primary and everyone else dependants. LA consulate.

I mean, almost everyone does this, I myself did. What's your question?

Recap: I was approved first. Then I submitted for my wife and kids, exactly same documents, 550K Baht equivalent funds in my country account (nothing extra). Submitted 15K Baht fee for each of them separately. In 2-3 days, they were approved together.

Edit 1: Applied from Karachi consulate.

Yes got it right, wife applied, me applied as a spouse with our two kids, also applied for my son who is 18 from my first marriage, he required a letter of sponsorship from us and all was done in under 20 working days. Please take note. You need 500k per person in the primary account. Yes that was 2.5m baht we had to demonstrate available.

how much money did they make you show proof of for a family? Were there other differences vs the process for a single applicant to be aware of? It would be myself and 3 kids under my husband's primary DTV.

I had applied in Taipei back in Nov. 2024 when they were starting to be more strict asking about monthly income amounts. I had around 600k thb in my account and I had transferred over 2 mil thb into my husband’s bank account seasoned for 6 months. We didn’t want to take the chance as the DTV visa was still relatively new.

If you don’t have 500k thb per family member, search this group history as there are embassies/consulates that only require it for the main DTV holder.

No difference in terms of process as you apply as a single holder, once approved your dependents apply.

The main DTV applicant will apply and get an approval and then the dependents can apply referencing the approval/visa number of the main applicant, along with all supporting dependent documents.

Other than asking if anyone has done this you didn't really ask a question. And yes I'm sure hundreds of families have done it. So what is your concern/question?

it’s a public group. I don’t want the whole of my Facebook seeing my enquirers. It is not at all about the other group members seeing the questions.

For clarity, my question is:

“If you’ve been approved for the DTV with dependents (partner and kids) could you please comment so that I can speak to you privately?”

Apologies for the confusion.

What's your real question ❓❓❓ Getting the DTV visa for dependents is quite easy to get... it's been documented in many posts on this forum.

As long as you can show marriage certificate and birth certificates you can do that. They want 2 × 500k baht or equivalent

Getting DTV for kids shouldn’t be a problem once you obtain for the main applicant. But each application technically requires a separate 500,000 THB in funds.
