TLDR : Answer Summary
The O-A Visa application requires several documents, including a passport biodata page, recent photographs, proof of permanent residence, financial evidence of income or savings, a medical certificate, health insurance documentation, and a criminal record clearance. Key questions raised include whether any doctor can issue the medical certificate, the necessity for the insurance company to sign the documents, and issues regarding insurance companies not listed by the Thai government.

Is there a reason you are applying for the non-OA visa? The VAST majority of people don't want the non-OA visa, they want the non-O visa that they will then extend annually in Thailand. The non-O doesn't have any of these requirements except for proof of funds. No insurance, no medical check, no criminal background check.

As far as your questions, if you want to use your own insurance then your insurance company has to fill in and sign the form. There's about a 0.

% chance of that actually happening, which means you have to buy an insurance policy from the list of companies on the approved embassy list.

To apply for a Non-Immigrant O Visa (Retirement):

1. Gather Required Documents:

This includes a passport, visa application form, proof of meeting financial requirements, medical certificates, and other relevant documentation.

2. Submit Application:

Apply through the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country or at an immigration office in Thailand.

3. Obtain Visa:

Once approved, you'll receive a Non-Immigrant O visa, allowing you to enter and stay in Thailand for the specified period.

Important Considerations:

Financial requirements: You'll need to show either a monthly pension or regular income (at least 65,000 Baht/month) or have a minimum bank deposit of 800,000 Baht.

Health Insurance: You'll need to provide proof of comprehensive health insurance coverage.

Criminal Record: You'll need to provide a certificate stating you have no criminal record.

Medical Certificate: You'll need a medical certificate stating you do not have any

What exactly are your plans, how long do you actually intend on staying in Thailand? The more info you give the better the advice member can give regarding options. I note a couple of days ago you were promoting Mexico as an easier option to Thailand🤔

I went through the website and the didn’t find such a visa, I am planning to retire to Thailand or at least to stay more than one year and may travel to Bali or Vietnam during the stay

I suggest you follow Brandon's advice on obtaining a non-O before travelling to Thailand. Then apply for a one year extension of stay, make sure you obtain a re-entry permit and you can come and go as you please during the validity of the extension. A non-OA is valid for one year, if you buy another years insurance you can extend just before the visa expires getting you basically two years out of it. Then you're done. You apply for visas using the Thailand e-visa website.

Where did you get this list from? This is for the non-OA not the non-O.

google it and the so called non-o visa is not available for Americans I think, I can’t find it in any of the visa categories on the website

You normally apply via the thaievisa.go.th. website. I’m not from the US but it should be the same.

@Mike *****
it's a 90 day visa based on being over 50 (retirement). When you arrive in Thailand you open a bank account and transfer 800,000 into your Thai bank account. Then you can apply for a 1-year extension every year.

I heard you can’t open an Thai bank account with tourist visa

@Mike *****
You can't. That's why you get the non-O visa before you go to Thailand.
