TLDR : Answer Summary
The question pertains to the requirements for obtaining an O-A Visa for Thailand, specifically about whether a medical certificate needs to be notarized. There are mixed opinions from users regarding the notarization requirement, with some past applicants stating notarization was not necessary while others mentioned that it could be beneficial to ensure all documents are notarized. Notably, consulate requirements may vary, with references to needing notarized documents for different purposes.

The LA consulate is asking for notarized copies of my child's birth certificate and my marriage certificate. Won't an apostille work even though Thailand is not a signatory to the Hague Convention that set up the international document authentication process. It is essentially an international notary as I understand it that authenticates that the signature is authentic. Does anyone have experience with this?

I got an O-A many yers ago and never had to have anything notarized (US citizen). Not sure how you could it notarized anyway if it has already been signed. A notary has to certify the person's signature so it has to be signed in their presence.
