Hi, I'm currently in Thailand finishing up an ED visa but will return to the USA in October and submit docs to the Thai consulate in Los Angeles for a long stay/"retirement" O-A visa.
No issues meeting the requirements but saw on a post that getting the medical certificate was turning out to be more of a hassle than expected. I was wondering would it be easier to take care of the medical certificate here before I leave? Would it be accepted at the consulate in LA?
Any info very much appreciated!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in Thailand on an ED visa and plans to apply for an O-A visa for retirement through the Thai consulate in Los Angeles. They inquire about the feasibility of obtaining the required medical certificate in Thailand rather than in the USA, following up on information that acquiring it can be troublesome. Responses from the community suggest that it is possible to get a medical certificate easily in the USA, with experiences indicating that it's often a straightforward process. Additionally, the user is advised to ensure the cancellation of their ED visa extension before departing Thailand to avoid future fines.
