TLDR : Answer Summary
Several expats discussed their experiences applying for the Non-Immigrant Type O-A retirement visa from the US, highlighting the need to specify which visa they referred to. The conversation included references to different Thai consulates in the US, such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington DC, where applicants can apply. Participants shared tips on documentation, including bank statements for financial criteria, and emphasized that no additional letters of validation were necessary for the application.

As for finances, printouts of bank statements were fine.

Fairly straight forward and quick. Have all the docs and a large stamped envelope for them to mail your passport back unless you plan to return to pick it up in person. (Takes a few days)

seeing as you get an O-A visa from a thai consulate in your country before you wing your way here I'd say look at the website of one of the 4 thai consulates in the USA that can issue a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay) visa.

Those are; Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington DC.

Each consulate has a slightly different set of criteria and how they want the documents presented to them.

You can apply by post at those consulates too.

And which of the 4 so called "retirement visas" do you mean and what is your question other than asking for names of people older than 50 years and having a US passport?
