TLDR : Answer Summary
The current visa exemption still allows a stay of 60 days in Thailand, and no official change to a 30-day exemption has been implemented yet. While there are discussions and a proposal to reduce the exemption to 30 days, it remains under consideration and requires formal publication in the Royal Thai Gazette to become effective. As of now, travelers can still enter Thailand under the existing 60-day visa exemption.

With ticket prices for flights soaring, they should think again.

You can still get a 60-day visa if you apply before departure. The 30-day visa is for VOA, unless they change the law.

Free Visa Exemption Entry for Tourism of 60 Days Stay ( ผ.60–ม.17 ) has been and still is in effect since 15 July 2024

The current Thai Prime Minister and Thai Interior Minister, previously as Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Thai Interior Minister was one of the persons to officially sign and promulgate ผ.60–ม.17 into effect on 15 July 2024

Since 19 September 2025, as Thai Prime Minister and Thai Interior Minister, he could have easily proposed to his own caretaker Thai Cabinet to pass a Thai Cabinet Resolution, and then, he alone would sign for any changes and has had plenty of opportunities and time to do so either before or after the Thai General Election held on 8 February 2026, and as of 26 March 2026, there are still no changes

Why are you worried if it's 30, 60 or 90? You don't have enough money anyway for 10 days

Participante anónimo 131 could be, but I personally don't believe it because I've been hearing the same for almost two years now. On a side note, I couldn't care less about it, tho. I have a 5-year visa anyway.

It is still under consideration at the moment.

Currently, the visa exemption allows a stay in Thailand for up to 60 days, until an official announcement is made.

it's been always under consideration, meaning that until published on the Royal Gazette, you can safely disregard it
