TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, the 60-day tourist visa and the 60-day visa exemption are still valid in Thailand. A 30-day extension for tourists can also be applied for, but it requires submission at the Immigration Office and is granted at their discretion. Travelers from eligible countries will receive a 60-day stamp upon entry, while others may need to apply for a tourist visa beforehand. It is important to be aware that there are conversations around possible rule changes, but currently, there have been no official announcements regarding a reduction to a 30-day visa.

I don't think the 60 day visa is even being discussed for change. Just apply and pay before you come. 👌

First, everyone should edify themselves on the difference between a 60 day tourist visa and a 60 day visa exempt arrival. An old airframe and power plant instructor of mine would always scream “words will help us understand “.

It’s recommended to go at least seven days in advance, but it also says 15 days or less

Some places you can go 30 days but apparently here in Pattaya the immigration officers here can refuse you and tell you to come back when it’s 15 days

Yes, but immigration doesn’t seem very happy about it. I went through the border by land at Nong Kai last week on a very legitimate visa waiver, and had to go talk to the supervisor. It all worked out, but in over a dozen years living here that has never happened to me.

LIsten to Greg Folden ; Emigration officers are very helpful as far as I know, every where. A polite and nice behavior from You is a good idea I beleve. Some say 60 days and some say x30 days. But there is a official document You can find on Internet wich tell whats kind of visa they approve. Some say many things have changed, but this document say that nothing have changed Honnestly I am not the one to tell, so make little research, thats my advice. Brgds

Mark Smith It was 30 days to start with so why won't they change the visa exemption back as there still is a 60 day tourist visa available that the government never got rid off,so why didn't the Thai government ditch the 60 day tourist visa when the visa exemption was increased to 60 ?

Considering the decrease of tourism and the surge of travel cost due to the ongoing war in middle east, Thai government would be shooting their own foot if they still have time to tinker with visas and all. They dont even have time and resources to provoke Cambodian border troops. They have a more pressing matter to solve; fuel shortage nationwide.

The 60 days tourist visa is available as is the 60 days visa exemption. The 30 days extention of stay has to be applied for and is issued at the discretion of the Immigration Office.

Visa exempt (not a tourist visa), is currently still 60 days. You can apply one time for a 30 day extension based on tourism. If you're from a visa exempt eligible country, you'll receive the stamp when you enter without a visa.

Tourist visa will remain 60 days, and there has been no discussion around changing the tourist visa. You apply for it and pay for it through the online e-visa system.

why do u need to pay, if coming from eligible country you get 60 days and there is no fee, if you’re paying then your being scammed, only pay for the 30 day extension when applying 1900bht

ผ.60 would be the stamp right now. Before they changed visa exempt to 60 days it would be ผ.30.

For a tourist visa, it shows as TR, since it's an actual visa.

These are very small, like
***
page stamps.

For visa on arrival (where you apply and pay for a visa at the airport) it's like a whole half page stamp/visa that says "Visa on arrival"

Peter H Bates It's an entry stamp and the permission to stay period depends upon what passport you hold and which visa you purchased (if applicable)
