For getting the initial 90 day marriage visa, is 400,000thb bank statement required?
Answer summary
For the initial application of a 90-day Non-O marriage visa, a 400,000 THB bank statement is generally not required if applying from abroad. However, if applying within Thailand for a 1-year extension based on marriage, evidence of 400,000 THB held in a Thai bank account for at least two months is necessary, unless the embassy provides alternative provisions based on income.

for the application to the 90-days Non-Imm-O Marriage visa outside of Thailand or in your home country, you can use your original income documents or a deposit of 400,000 THB equivalent in your bank account. However for the application inside Thailand to the 1-year extension of stay permit based on being married to a Thai wife, if your embassy in Thailand does not issue any income affidavits, then your only option is showing a minimum of 400,000 THB in your Thai bank account, and on the day you apply, the money must have been sitting in your account for a minimum of 2 months.
My partner applied for the 90-days spouse visa from abroad. We only put in 100k and it was enough. The 400k requirement only applies to 1-year extension within Thailand.
Initial application for E Visa to stay with Thai family member requires 400,000baht in you your country currency in your country bank account held for 3 months before applying for your e visa. When you are here you hold it in a Thai bank for 2 months before applying for your 12 month extension.
