Has anyone ever been refused a 30 day extension on a tourist visa before? I was also given two forms to be filled in by my landlord.

The second form on the left is a power of attorney form.

I got the one on the right last time I extended my tourist visa at Pattaya Immigration, Jomtien. I was completely lost as I had never seen that form before. The officer who gave it to me just sent me away puzzled. I then asked another officer, quietly working in a corner, what to do with this. I'm not kidding, she said "Just fill it out yourself". WHAA?! So I wrote my personal info, my address, etc. even though I am not the owner. Submitted that together with the usual documents and got the extension without any issue. Thailand... ;)

Have extended Tourist Visa permission to stay before at Jomtien and one of the forms you have to fill in (Or at least speaking from what I've been given each time) is the TM30.
My landlady registered me right away when I first came here 9 months ago though so I have the slip stapled into the back of my passport so I just hand the form back.

Samut prakarn will charge u for it 1000 baht as I paid twice and won't extent until forms filled by landlord . Cheang watthana is fine. Just do it at cheang watthana.

I've never been or heard of anyone asked show a TM 30 for a tourist visa extension

Tod Daniels think I misunderstood. I know what a TM 30 is. I thought by your statement that the signs were outside the 90 day reporting room meant that you meant the non Thai person doing the 90 day report had to being the TM 30 with them.

It's gonna end up like China, when they came around to my condo to check up.
It's NOT 90 day reporting, its the rule that's been in place for a LONG LONG time (but never enforced) where the place you rent from has to file a TM.30 (alien in residence) form with the immigration office within 24 hours of you moving in. Hotel, guest houses etc used to have an online program where they reported you (but it's down now)..

English would be handy for a foreigner. Lol!

But for tourist visas?? 90 day reporting is a bit different no? But it won't surprise me if they start doing it for tourist visas on Samui one day!

Immigration offices all over the country are getting harder and harder about the TM.30 being filed when you take up residence here. These are the signs out at Chaengwattana as you go into the 90 day reporting room.

Where was that at?
As recent as last week here in Bangkok out at Chaengwattana they didn't care if anyone had or hadn't filled out a TM.30 form.
Yep, that's the "standard fine" immigration offices are charging people for NOT having filed a TM.30. At least Samut Prakan talked to your landlord and told him to pay. Up in Chiang Mai they fine the foreigners :/

He was on the phone to my landlord saying that they have to pay ฿1600

It looks like the other form is a "power of attorney" one that your landlord fills out so he gives you permission to file the TM.30 form without him going with you
