Hi all,

Entered Thailand on the 9th of April with an STV.

My initial 90 days will take me to the 8th of July.

First 90 day extension will take me to roughly the end of September/beginning of October.

I know that the STV expires on the 30th of September however if I manage to extend it once more on perhaps the 28/29th September, will I be able to stay for another 90 days?

Hope this makes sense!

TLDR : Answer Summary

They want clarity on whether they can obtain an extension shortly before the visa expires to stay longer in Thailand. Comments highlight experiences and requirements related to the STV extension process, noting the importance of following guidelines and having proper documentation, including health insurance and rental agreements.

All we can say is to wish you good luck with your efforts to extend the STV visa.

There are mixed viewpoints expressed by many.

We will be interested in reading your experience with the STV EXTENSIONS.

Hopefully you have and will follow the STV requirements fully as there are reports of difficulty in obtaining the extension... Due to not having the correct insurance and not showing the prepaid lease or rental booking with the owners Thai ID card and tax ID number.

Make sure the insurance policy required for the STV visa is purchased for your entire planned stay in Thailand. As its very difficult to get the correct insurance for the STV visa inside Thailand.

The policy you may have purchased for say three months may not be extended... Check with your insurance company..

A fact that has been reported.

A recent post re the STV extension experience...

"I was in Nonthaburi to extend my STV visa. Here's what the officer asked

1. Copy of passport

2. Copy of TM6

3. Copy of STV visa page on your passport

4. TM7, use the last updated one or get it from Immigration Office. With a photo affixed.

5. STM 2. Declaration that you're aware about overstay and the penalties.

6. ASQ certificate letter stating that you've completed 14 days quarantine.

7. Some kind of proof that you indeed stayed at the ASQ, i produced my ASQ hotel receipt ( room charges )

8. Health Insurance showing coverage amount, line by line items in details of IP, OP, Covid coverage amount.

9. Rental. To state clearly rental period when to when, at where, 4 signatures either passport or Thai ID at the end of agreement ( the usual standard contract ). If the rental's address is in Bangkok, you can only extend visa in Bangkok. Rental period should cover at least 3 months more.
