Hey all,

Question for those who came in on the STV, particularly in the Chonburi area . Iโ€™m due an extension in a few weeks, and was looking to hear some more experiences?

Iโ€™ve been loosely looking on here, and noticed that different immigration offices have different levels of strictness. But Iโ€™ve Not heard many stories from Chonburi (jomtien) immigration ....although I met a bloke in a restaurant the other week and he said he had a nightmare extending his visa ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Any experiences would be great ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeking information about extending their Special Tourist Visa (STV) in the Chonburi area, specifically Jomtien, asks for experiences from others. They highlight that different immigration offices have varying strictness levels and mention a negative experience shared by someone they met. In the comments, another user outlines the necessary documents for a 90-day extension and suggests visiting the Jomtien Immigration office beforehand to gather exact requirements.

Okay, at MOST immigration offices in order to extend a Special Tourist Visa for another 90 days you need

Copies of

data page of your passrport

STV sticker

entry stamp

TM6 departure card

TM30 (notification of foreigner in residence)

You also need;

proof you went thru ASQ,

proof of where you stayed the last 90 days,

proof of where you're staying the next 90 days,

proof your insurance covers you for another 90 days.

With those things at MOST immigration offices you can get a 90 day extension on a Special Tourist Visa.

Here's a thought, (seeing as not all that many people have the STV) how about swinging by the Jomtien Immigration office (on Soi 5) BEFORE you need your extension and get the hand out or talk to them about what is required at that office?
