Any bank account is acceptable, but the embassy always prefers a bank account from the same country as the Thai embassy (because they are familiar with the bank and can verify the documents more easily).

not necessarily but the thought process goes like this:A DTV visa is a tourist visa and therefore you shouldn’t have a Thai bank account.

still doesn't make it true. people were on workpermit & visa, retired all of them have thai bank accounts and can switch to the dtv using that accountActivity
