RETIREMENT VISA! Can the monthly income requirement be coming into a foreign bank account? Or does it need to be a Thai bank account? Also, can I get the visa when already in Thailand? Thank you 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for a retirement visa (Non-O) in Thailand, the monthly income must be deposited into a Thai bank account, not a foreign account. Specifically, you need a minimum of 65,000 THB monthly as proof through the bank's records, along with a year's bank statement. While you can apply for the Non-O visa while already in Thailand, you must have 800,000 THB in your Thai account for at least two months prior to your application. Note that some embassies no longer provide income affidavits, and it's important that all income transfers occur monthly without skips for eligibility.

I had the 800.000 method first, then changed to monthly income. Jomtien immigration was fine with years statement, where monthly transfer was visible. No affidavit needed, I gave proof, where it came from. But not one transfer in that year can be skipped, or done after the month, it is supposed to be in your account. Not used agency.

The USA embassy stopped income affidavits several years ago.

For your initial Non-O you will either need 800k in a Thai bank account in your name or an income affidavit from your Embassy (if they still provide one).

Visa non imm O you.can get in Thailand. Only you have to have 800k฿ 2 months before application. I read not with each imm office so ask the handout from the imm you use.

Two months before application is only required in Jomtiem and a couple of other Immigration Offices.

does anyone know how long the 800k needs to be in the bank for immigration in Bangkok? This the first time I’ve seen 2 months may not be a requirement at all offices.

1. Thai Bank account only. 2. Not less than 65.000THB monthly as FTT (International transfer). 3. 1 year (12 months) bank statement. 4. Letter (affidavit) from your Embassy.

US Embassy no longer issues the 12 month affidavit. 800k only option

Yes, but maybe private companies can issue confirmation of retirement payments.

Sure they can, but immigration will not accept it.
