Does my son need to do a border bounce every 90 days on his Non-O visa, or can he just check in at immigration?

Hi All. My son who is 6 is on a multiple entry Non O follow visa from his mothers Non B. For my Non O I have to do a border bounce every 90 days. Will my son have to do this as well or can he do a checkin at Samui immigration every 90 days? I’m trying to avoid him doing a border bounce. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses whether a 6-year-old child on a multiple entry Non-O visa needs to do a border bounce every 90 days like the parent or if they can simply check in at immigration. It is clarified that the child will have to follow the same rules as the parent regarding border bumps, although there may not be fines or bans for overstaying with children under 15. There is also advice to explore the possibility of yearly extensions of stay that would align with the mother's visa situation.

ahhh, that's the problem, she's NOT on an extension based on employment from the immigration office (when you all would get matching extensions) she's on a year-long, multi-entry Non-B visa where she bounces (which means you can't get extensions based on being related to her).

I would say have her check with her employer and see why she can't get a yearly extension of stay instead of bouncing every 90 days. If she can't you all bounce.

Although as Johnny Wokhard correctly pointed out there is no fine for overstay with children under 15 and they cannot be banned for overstay until they're 18 (that doesn't mean they don't need a visa, BUT it means if they don't have one there is no repercussions for you the parents or the child) ..

Thanks guys. She has her own business and no employees. I will have her check with her lawyer. Appreciate the advice and help.

Why do you have to do a border bounce every 90 days? you can certainly get a yearly extension of stay that matches your wife's extension based on being the spouse of someone who legally works here AND your child could get one too.

Of course that's IF your wife is on a yearly extension and not on a Non-B where she bounces in and out of the country every 90 days.

I'd go to the immigration office and see what is required to get the yearly extensions that match your wifes.

She has to do border bounces as well. Was hoping there was a way to not have the 6 year old do the bounce.

If he has the non imm o multi entry visa then yes he has to border bounce every 90 days, although as pointed out he wont be fined or banned if he doesnt, but will get an overstay stay stamp. Just take him with you when you go
