TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to return to Thailand by the end of February and is anxious about being turned back due to their previous visits totaling less than 90 days. Community comments emphasize that the total number of visits isn't a concern as long as the visitor adheres to the allowed duration of stay. Suggestions include obtaining a visa for security, especially since regulations have tightened. Many users share personal experiences supporting the notion that genuine tourists typically are allowed entry without issues.

Don’t stress. If you’re a genuine tourist, you’ll be fine. I’ve just returned from my 5th visit in 13 months. Each time, staying for around 3 weeks. Just before Christmas, walked through immigration without a question asked. I’m planning on returning in April.

Get yourself a retirement visa

Start with a non-o 90 day

And when you get to Thailand, get yourself a retirement visa

It will cost about ฿25k

I just did that… It was super easy

My agent is in Hua Hin.

They set up the 90 day for me, and when I got to Thailand, I visited their office and within a few days I had my retirement visa. They take care of all the red tape… Made it super simple.

Now I’m free to come and go as often as I like… Without the stress

What did he say that makes you think he's looking for a retirement visa/situation ?

Because of his many visits, He said:

“he is worried that he will be turned back”

A good way to alleviate the worry, is to get a proper visa and be done with it.

Maybe he won’t need to… Maybe he will.

That will be up to him to decide

Are you unaware of all the posts around here over the last 6 weeks or so about entering Thailand "too often" visa-exempt.

While retirement questions may be a distant 2nd, the visa-exempt (possible) denials have clearly been the most discussed topic around here.

Get a visa online to be safe. The government has really tightened up on this and there are multiple postings about people not being allowed to enter. Can get a non o visa online via Thai government website

If you’re just visiting again like any other tourists & adhere to visitors days allowance etc - why would you be turned back? Unless your bookings way past what’s allowed then it’s a different matter. Sure if your intention goes beyond visiting within the parameter of what’s allowed you would have checked ✅ all requirements first? Like some countries with people now have increased movements - rules & regulations also are adjusted to changes. Control is necessary for any country.

How many times you visited last year doesn't matter. It's how LONG you spent in Thailand that matters. And since you did not include that information, no one can even attempt to provide further information.

thanks for this 🙏🏼 I did two, two week visits (June/July & Oct) last year. Planning another next month but held back for this exact reason. I feel a little less worried about being turned away now, cheers 🍻😎

spot on as always, if they were 2 week visits then prob fine, if 60 days each then much more tricky
